Alexandra Mendes did the art direction & branding of Sky High, which seats on top of Radisson Blu Hotel, in Hasselt, Belgium. The three levels of Sky High consist in meeting rooms, conference vs. restaurant area and tops it with the champagne bar Sky Lounge. The branding for Sky High was thought through to blend in with its new interior design, done by Creneau International. Shape, light, feeling… Sky’s look is about sharp tall lines, round edges, a minimal color pallete and a mix of textures.
The signage displayed throughout the 3 levels (17th floor, 18th floor and on the 19th is Sky Lounge) was designed to fit the ambiance and caracter of the space. This strong graphic unity will bring together all its different areas. The signage pictograms are variants further constructed from Licht Punt typeface, also used on the logo design. The signage materializes in square plaques of black plexiglass, with carved-out pictograms. Sky Lounge logo application on the top floor is a black plexiglass light box mounted on the wall, spreading light throughout the city. Standing tall, feeling luminous… Getting Sky High!
