Custom typeface designed by Alexandra Mendes for the Sky High branding project. Where all things stand tall. For that reason, there was only a need of using uppercase characters.
The characters are thin, tall and minimal. The detail on the joints of each character translates into light points.
There were designed two versions for the numerals, considering their application in the signage of Sky High.
Symmetry and precision are two characteristics to the geometric construction of the characters.
Licht Punt characters are thin, tall and minimal. Sharp lines and round edges. The details on the joints of each character refer to light points, as if the type is carved in a dark surface, and from behind it light shines through. Those joints become light points. And there comes the typeface name, Licht Punt (Light Point).
Licht Punt was custom designed by Alexandra Mendes for the branding of Sky High, the top three floors of Radisson Blu Hotel, in Hasselt. There was a need to make Sky High have a strong cohesive image that clearly separates it from the rest of Radisson Blu Hotel, so it felt necessary to create a typeface that translates the mood of a clean cut, cosmopolitan place. Licht Punt is used in the logos lettering and in the signage displayed through out the three levels of Sky High.
